It is normal for the system pressure to drop when you flush the membrane. You are releasing the back pressure on the system....its like opening a faucet....the pressure on the line drops.

Yah mahn. It will stay at 30 psi indefinitely though.

Turn the flush on....pressure drop...turn the flush off and pressure back up or no? Can you clarify?

Myka 04-27-2011 03:54 AM

Yep. If I turn the flush on for 15 minutes the pressure doesn't go up at all, 30 psi is all I get with the flush going. Isn't that typical? That's what I have always seen in residential applications.

Yes that is normal. Turning the flush on releases the back pressure on the membrane.

naa mine isnt like that but only because I use a pump to supply my water at 120 PSI. it still drops off a bit but only to about 90 PSI because the volume of the pump is good enough to keep the PSI up.

I do think your drop through a 1/4" line is a little large. befor my pump in my old house I would get about a 3 PSI drop, not 35 PSI, but I guess that could have to do in how you are supplying the water and where the PSI is measured.

Sorry to Hijack this post but has anybody else been waiting on their 150gpd 1:1 unit from BWI? My order was placed May 18th still waiting. Just wondering if I'm the only one.

Yeah I have to say the customer service is lacking from this guy, likely he's busy with spring work and BWI is a side business. I had to follow up with him to get my unit shipped and I'm confident I'd still be waiting if I didn't so contact him ASAP.

Also people should note these units do not apparently include an auto shut off so you'll either have to add one or manually turn the water supply on or off (a float switch won't shut it off). I see he's noted this in the thread now but the website is misleading as it states it's included. I managed to get a shut off added after I already received my unit but I'm still waiting for it, took over two weeks for him to ship it out after being promised next day and again I had to follow up to even get it out then.

Overall like the product, hate the service. Will not be a repeat customer. Look around there are plenty other 1:1 units available and even 2:1 (2 good, 1 waste) units available, not as cheap but at least they actually do include everything you need.

If you haven't received a tracking number it's highly unlikely it's been shipped.
