The suspects have been apprehended!!

Don't want to throw the guys under the bus quite yet...

Suffice to say, I take full responsibility for buying something that i didn't research.....

But any respectable fish store should know what they are selling and have the decency to NOT sell stuff like this to its customers.

Would at least be nice to know the name of the store in question so others in the area (especially beginners like myself) can be cautious when we go into this store.

A few years back I bought a beautiful aptasia that I thought it was a baby anemone . I kept feeding it until it multiplied into a dozen just in a week. Their color was so beautiful that I felt pity for them. My hand was shaking like I got Parkinson disease or something (and my heart sunk) when I squirted and killed them with boiled water.

They are kind of cute. Maybe put them in a sump?

They are so despised because they pop all over the place and they sting corals.

they are quite pretty but i really don't want a tank full of them.....

do they take over aggressively? is that why they are so despised?

I would suggest you take the piece back to the store with a receipt and tell them that you would like your money back because the anemones are Aiptasia pest anemones as identified by several of your "reef keeping friends". LFS never put much faith in "internet people". If you are kind, and polite you shouldn't have any issues getting your money back.

It's true it's a risk as when they are tiny and float in the water they can get anywhere.
