My green mandarins spawned and then when this became regular, my female died. She was quite plump, and just dropped dead.

Never seen a mandrian move that fast when they got in the blast from the powerhead

They did not get blasted by the power head. They move fast like that when spawning. The female releases her eggs into the water and the male shoots sperm at them. Then they quickly dart down. they do this because while spawning they are very susceptible to predators. So after they are quick to get back to the safety of the live rock. Its very hard to see the eggs in the water after they dart down. Then the chalk bass get to eat like pigs :smile: |
