My tank hit 86F when I woke up yesterday morning, with no ill effects to anything. The fish were all swimming around, the corals were out and there was no sign of any danger. I needed to top off, but that was the extent of it. I added 5g of 75F water to it and everything seemed to have been fine. This morning (after cranking the AC of course) it's now staying at 80 all day. Whew!

No ac that's my problem, my place is a solid 95 degrees and tanks sitting at 83....,been only running my lights late nights. Mostly everything is looking good though I have a severly peeved maxi mini I'm worried about and think I'm going to loose a Kenya tree I just picked up

I shut the freezer door automatically as well and place the old water bottle back into the freezer. yesterday was the first time the system had been triggered and there was an audible alert issued as well. It's currently configured with language filter set to "adult".

What does it say?:twised:

Before I switched to LEDs I used to fill up an icecream pail with my tank water, freeze it and than once froze just put the big cube in to my sump. Worked great!

well my fan couldn't fight it back down to 78 from 79 which sucks. in goes a bottle of ice. i really wanted to have a solution that works when i'm not home! maybe it can hold 80 until tonight when it starts cooling off but i'm not going to bother finding out if i can help it.

As for the bio cube looks like ice bags for the foreseeable future.lights have been reduced to 3 hours as well (3x400w mh)

You'll love/hate having that big brute of a chiller - power pig/heat generator
I hope you have somewhere to run it where you can vent the hot air away from your system

I kept the 1/10HP chiller we ran on our 36g (was lots of overkill)
It's in my office beside the sump and runs all year. The heaters and the chiller keep the tank rock steady @ 79
But, with it this hot, the house hits 85+ and my office is even hotter (I blame the chiller)
With it that hot, the chiller can't function properly

We have 2 x 900w AC units for the whole house. One is in my little 10' office ...
I have to run our AC so I can sleep, so I currently have the house @ 79 (coincedence) and all is working fine, but the 900w AC unit in my office window has the room temp @ 74/75, so I have to wear a t-shirt in here :surprise:

Green Shmeen
It's the money that hurts
I've been running 1800 watts of AC since Saturday
First year we installed it, we ran it through a heat wave and our bill went up by about $250 :twised:

I try my best not to use it, but can't sleep when the house is over 85

I'm running a portable AC unit and my house still hit 30 inside  tanks were 80-85 depending on which one
