How about in the East Village?
It has the slum appeal of 17th and the appeal of downtown?

figdish 11-09-2012 06:46 PM

i will attend just name date, time and place. Have sooo many questions about salt and pond as I have both

Littlefishy 11-09-2012 07:17 PM

Inglewood? Lol if you could make it to Red Coral you can probably make it to Inglewood... Tee hee. I just would have zero suggestions on locations in the SE!

Littlefishy 11-09-2012 07:20 PM

Or we could always do a Flash Mob at McDonalds or something... ;)

Littlefishy 11-09-2012 07:25 PM

How do people feel about Dec. 6th, Thursday?

not that anyone really cares but I have a company Christmas function the evening of the 6th. Take lots of pics so that I may enjoy vicariously !

Littlefishy 11-09-2012 08:56 PM

Well so far it does not work for anyone... How does Dec. 4th, Tuesday work!?

I am going to vote for a weekend date as those are most flexible for me. I've got young kids that require my attention (feeding, bathing, homework, etc) in the evenings. But don't let that hold up the group if everyone else prefers a week night.

Also, I'm not sure when or where the last meet up was, but the last one I attended in the spring had a decent turn out and it was on a Sunday (or maybe it was a Saturday) afternoon. The meet up prior to that one that I attended had an even bigger turn out and that was on a weekend afternoon as well if I recall correctly. That meeting was even in the far north end! Just some food for thought.

lastlight 11-09-2012 09:30 PM

we're all going to have to skype in from home and pretend we're holding hands at this rate.

Look at you with your private reef meets!

What about Dec. 8th, Saturday afternoon/early evening?

That date appears to work. I will put that in my calendar as a tentative date. Even if just one other person shows up it's still a reef meet

kien 11-09-2012 10:16 PM

Also, if we stick with the 17th ave SE location I say we send Denny out to scope out a place. I know that there are a couple of pubs (maybe) more along that stretch. The closer to Deerfoot the better maybe? I recommend staying away from the Vietnamese joints if we want leave the reef meet alive.

MinPhase 11-09-2012 10:21 PM

I'm in. Downtown area would be great.

sphelps 11-09-2012 10:29 PM

There's a Jamesons's just a wee bit north of 17th SE

Littlefishy 11-09-2012 10:29 PM

What did you think about Inglewood?

I like it but Kien is likely going to start crying again as it's kind of downtown, even though he obviously doesn't mind taking his dates to Eau Claire which is also clearly downtown.

Technically 17th ave SE stretches into Inglewood so Kien would be fine with that. Not that anyone cares though.

sphelps 11-09-2012 11:01 PM

Cool, what's in Inglewood?

figdish 11-09-2012 11:52 PM

There are some nice spots in inglewood. My gf works there and I can get lowdown on a good spot if interested?

figdish 11-10-2012 12:03 AM

Littlefishy 11-10-2012 02:00 PM

I am going to try making some solid plans...
Saturday, Dec. 8th at 3:00pm at the Ironwood in Inglewood.
Input???

figdish 11-10-2012 10:20 PM

gridley 11-10-2012 10:28 PM

I like the idea of meeting - I have put Dec 8 into my calendar - I'll be there unless a family related event come up.

Are you buying? Ha ha. Just kidding. Sounds like a plan.
And it also sounds like someone does not enjoy the festive spirit!

Littlefishy 11-14-2012 01:59 PM

kien 12-03-2012 05:00 PM

Just a friendly reminder about the meet up this Saturday.

I am still planning to attend. In fact, I wouldn't mind moving it up to say 2pm? Would give us a larger window for people to pop in and out maybe?

K.

sphelps 12-03-2012 05:13 PM

The wife's Christmas party is this Saturday as well but I think we're going to stop by before hand for a bit.

Coleus 12-03-2012 06:40 PM

Will be there if I don't get hangover from Xmas party from previous night. Do they have wings there?
