If you need it, it's here. I just had knee surgery today so unfortunately I cannot deliver and check out the new system. If you need some one to stand around and give orders though, I'm all in. I'll be good to go in a few if you need a hand with the plumbing. LMK. |

ouch what happened? No problem I can pick it up. I may just pick your brain with the plumbing questions. |

I tore my meniscus in my knee last fall, finally got in to get it repaired. No worries, good as new now(so they tell me). But seriously if you need me, let me know, we'll get the plumbing done. |

That would be stellar. Me and plumbing don't get along! I really want it to be nice and professional looking |
So tomorrow is the big day and I'm freaking out lol.
just need to get it down stairs safe and sound. on the bright side I picked up a few more pieces today. Thanks again Ken (Bwa) http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b8...-38-18_745.jpg Anyone have advice on getting the tank down stairs? |
I have a Milwaukee PVC cutter if you need it.

Besides the fact you should have lots of help? Could you clarify your question? Nice pumps |
I guess any techniques that have worked to make it easier. dollies, crazy carpets ect.
|
Well, getting it as close to the stairs as possible on some kind of table or sawhorses helps.
Not knowing what you are dealing with for stairs and turns, I'd suggest you set up some saw horses or such at the bottom of the stairs as this is when everyone should take a rest. Besides that, it's just a matter of keeping the tank off the floor. Do not set it down on edges and try not to twist it. As for dollies and carpets, that all depends on the layout of your home. They are useful when you are not dealing with stairs, but the stairs should be a fluid move; no trying to set it down. You can rest it on your thigh, but you really should keep going until you can set it down flat. Does that help answer your question? |
I ended up sliding mine down the stairs on several clean blankets. It was the easiest part of the whole move.
Buy a few of these and get your kids to move the tank! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUE4x-_pb9A |
An appliance dolly and an extra pair of hands are invaluable.
Good luck. |
Everything went smooth as butter, lots of good friends helping out, most of them shaking their heads asking why are you putting a glass swimming pool in the basement.
A big thanks to Chris (Lapdog) he sold me this tank and was nice enough to come over with 2 pairs of suction cups and a dolly to help me get it down safely. I mean to take more pics but it went by so fast... here are a few. Tank loaded in my truck (behind the rug rats) http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b8...-17-52_667.jpg |

Just wanted to give Neil at NWGP kudos for building this tank. It's unbelievably built and I would highly recommend him for any custom tank builds. If anyone is interested drop lapdog2020 (Chris) a pm he was also fantastic to deal with and went way above and beyond all expectations!
Thanks Neil and Chris |

slow process but little by little...I built my electronics box for under the DT.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b8...-17-15_533.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b8...-17-35_553.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b8...-17-52_512.jpg it's only 12" deep but at 32" tall and 30" wide I should have plenty of room for my Profilux controller and Doser on the top shelf. The bottom area will be for my two profilux power bars, vortech cotrollers, Radion Ballasts and a UPS back up. The Box is completely sealed except for a hole for the cords that will have a rubber fitting (or something like it) to seal it as well. |
Hey Jay, I will play a game of pool for a fish (no money just fish).
