Pic update... Received my Snappy package today and was so impressed with the "drop dead gorgeous" colours in the corals I had to pull the camera out...

I am glad you're pleased with yours as well. It's funny I had a few people call me asking about the LPS I have available asking what they look like under regular light as they assumed the pix were taken under actinic lighting but the pix on my forum are all taken under 14 K MH's. Sorry Wayne didn't mean to hi-jack your thread. |

Not too much to add for March... picked up a new Eheim 1262 pump for my return from Blue World Aquarium to replace my old 7 yr old pump. From what I've read I should notice a quieter pump from what I am currently using. Hope to have it in this weekend.
http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0040.jpg As for stock I picke up a new tang (also from Blue World) a week and a half ago... Introducing Scarface... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0041.jpg Why I called him Scarface? You will have to watch... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWMD0...layer_embedded To be able to pull through from this type of ordeal I just have to have him. Some new pics (under royal blue leds) of LPS I purchased from Snappy a month ago... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0043.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0044.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0046.jpg Couple of new sps from Progressive... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0053.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0048.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0049.jpg Several misc non macro shots... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0052.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0051.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0050.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0047.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...2/DPP_0054.jpg |
That's a horrible video to watch. I almost had to close it...
Very nice to finally see him in a place to call home. I also rescued a fish that was hurt through some sort of ordeal. He is a True Percula with a mouth that is half healed shut. I have small pellets to feed him but he still has hardly grown lol. Can you guess what My wife named him? lol |
April SPS macro pics
Not much happening tonight so I took some macro pics of sps in the tank. There have been some good signs of new growth since changing the lights to LED and I have also started dosing brightwell's microbacter7. It seems to be working as the skimmer is working harder as the skimmate is thicker and the stench is even stronger than before.
Here are a couple of pics of the tank... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_63.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_64.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_65.jpg sps macro pics http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_62.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_61.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_60.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_59.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_55.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_54.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_53.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_52.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_51.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_50.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_49.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_48.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_47.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_46.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_45.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_56.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_42.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_41.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_40.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_39.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_38.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_37.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_43.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_34.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_35.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...012/DPP_32.jpg |
Pretty sweet Wayne. Ive been playing around with that camera attachment you left at the shop. Pretty cool piece.
You never should have told me about deal extreme. So many things I've debated ordering haha |
RiceReef, this tank is a real inspiration for me. I can only hope my tank is wall to wall with corals a looks as good as yours does someday.

June 2012 update
It's been two months since I have posted an update... Corals are growing and it may have been benefiting from the following changes
- I've switched over to biopellets but I am still dosing Vodka - I have been adding 1 capful of MB7 once a week Since April my two flasher wrasses finally decided to commit suicide. I am to blame as I did not have a top screen and I do not want to put one over the tank (at least not now). So, no more wrasses for me. I have also added more frags to the tank (don't know where they are gonna go but I will have to find room for them) from fellow Canreefers in the Mainland and another CM order. Here are some pics... from Top Down... I picked up a Eshopps Super Spy Viewer... while taking pics the darn thing kept on moving about ( I had the pumps off but the return is still moving it around) and affecting some of the images. Hope you don't mind some blurry pics... Guess I will have to figure out how I am gonna secure this while taking pics... may need an assistant to hold it still... Enjoy the top down of existing corals and some of the new ones.... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_001-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_002-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_003-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_004-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_024-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_005-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_006-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_007-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_008-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_009-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_010-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_011-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p.../DPP_012-1.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...12/DPP_014.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...12/DPP_015.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...12/DPP_016.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...12/DPP_017.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...12/DPP_019.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...12/DPP_021.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...12/DPP_023.jpg |
Great looking pics Wayne, sps is slowly starting to fill in.
|
Wayne, you are so screwed when those frags start filling in :) I'd be planning the tank upgrade about now.
If things get out of control before the bigger tank shows up, let me know, I can help...:) |
Dude that FTS looks killer man. last time i saw frags and small colonies in a tank was a guy in Calgary named EPOSER
he had a fancy corner 155 gal and it was full like yours. Brad you might remember that name. |

Wayne, I think you should be up next to host a reef meeting, we gotta see that tank in person  |
Wow Wayne, tanks is looking fantastic. I just love the varieties of SPS you have in your tank. I will have to come by and check out the tank in person soon.
