just keep in mind where your corals are under t5's now not to shock them all at once so if its possible dont thro away the t5's just yet do your regular schedule with halides for 1 hr a day for 1 week then 2 hrs a day for 1 week and keep going untill your up to 6-8hrs of halides.
ideally you want to replicate our sun as much as possible with low light in the evenings and mornings and the highest light mid day and then moon lights.....its a hard thing to do in a 20g as there isnt alot of space but its not a must to have this just helps us replicate mother nature more better;) |

Here's a tip...you have a new baby right? Children benefit from having a tank in the house. They learn about nature, they learn patience by sitting and watching quietly, they even breath better. "Honey, we NEED all this stuff for the baby!!" Trust me..... |

hrv is vents ran throughout your house it takes in fresh air from outside and exausts stale air outside while controlling the temerature.its very healthy for those with breathing problems and is a cleaner air then whats inside your house(to my knowledge anyways)

Yup I almost got her on the Ro/di that water report sure scared her, I was like look at all the stuff in the water, did you know that even trace amounts of mercury showed up? like very miniscule but its still there! So I was told I used my voltage meter incorrectly. So I put the positive in the ground of the plug outlet, and the negative in the tank. The needle moved, I will put a picture below, with a black line pointing to the exact location of where the needle landed. Now, I am a noob to all of this, so I don't know what it means lol, I just know the needle moved. any help on how to solve the problem, or what I did wrong or right is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks bud. Enlightened I have become. lol I did have it on the wrong setting, so I will retest tonight, and hopefully narrow down the root cause!

I have one of those multi meters, so thought I would test my tanks, just in case. And to my surprise, my refugium tank has stray voltage. The needle moved quite a bit.
Turns out it is my T8 light fixture sitting on top of my lexan tank cover. There is a bit of salt creep around the fixture, so will have to see what I need to do to fix the problem. Still surprised how that gets into the water. But when I shut it off, the stray voltage is gone, so that is definitely the source. Thank goodness, my display tank and sump checked out OK. I have a lot of pumps and electrical devices in and around them. Glad I read this thread, or never would have thought of checking. Canreef rocks! |
well I thought it was my power bar.. nope, its not any of my heaters or filters or anything, so it must be my lights too then, which is weird cause they are all literally brand new! I dont get it
