Thanks! He's my ongoing science experiment. Trying to learn about him and figure out how to keep him. Apparently Neoferdina are not very common in the hobby...

All I use is macro lens and a tripod really helps. Try to adjust your shutter speed to anything faster then 100th of a second. The other thing that really helps is putting your camera in manual focus mode. That way you can focus on what you want your main focal point to be

Carmen 07-07-2011 02:46 PM

Awesome macros Brett!

BMahura 07-08-2011 04:09 AM

Thanks Carmen.

Here is my Urchin affectionately named Cake. Originally he was wearing that suction cup like a top hat, then he moved it around to be like a satellite dish on his head... Since then it has started growing a sponge on it that at the rate it is growing will be bigger than him soon!

Yes, even point and shoot cameras are amazing nowadays. I think I could have even gotten closer if I wanted.

smokinreefer 07-10-2011 09:48 PM

nlreefguy 07-11-2011 02:39 AM

Arrrgh... why can't I get one of those? I'd love to have something to mow down all the zoos/palys in my tank. (just the brown ones please! if only it were that simple...)

fishytime 07-11-2011 02:49 AM

does smokinreefer ship???

noirsphynx 07-20-2011 06:38 PM

My hitch hiker  Pretty sure he's been ID as a species of decorator crab, Schizophrys aspera

Day I brought him home, March 27.
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...c/DSC_0001.jpg
Now a molt I placed in the same cup on June 17, he's growing fast.
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...c/P7170063.jpg
June 19, notice some small pieces of halimedia he's carrying on his back(between his eyes) and he always has some sponge material on his back that's there with every molt(even though there's no sponge in the tank).

Stomatella snail! good algae grazers he will either die off or reproduce in you tank from what I have earned on here! I have a few, I thought they were nudibranches at first but they weren't *PHEWWW*:mrgreen:

narhay 12-09-2011 06:10 PM

Im not sure. The pink pink ones are strawberry anemones, the others I haven't a clue. They are all temperate water species.

1) hilarious! I had one we called 'crazy joe' who did that too. He literally was crazier than the rest and had a barnacle or some nonsense stuck to his shell so we knew it was always him

2) awesome shot! I loved my old emerald (Sally) but she got down on my polyps a few too many times.

Nano 01-11-2012 06:29 AM

Thanks Brett once I get a sump, he'll be banished there as well, as he likes to taste my zoo's too.. what a jerk he is...:twised:

Kind of has a Deer in headlights look on his face... "Busted"

Nano 01-11-2012 06:38 AM

HAHA Gotcha again!
He's like get that friggen light out of my eyes you jerk!
