Oh snap flood
lets just say rodi fail . Now who thinks I can fix this before my wife dinner party tonight ??????????
http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...ps56c4f780.jpg http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...ps275203ea.jpg She is being cool about it now but we will see:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: |
oooo that sucks!!! What actually happened?
|
Ouch... it doesn't look too bad and I think its not a easy fix but doable, not sure about fixing before the dinner party though.
And there is also a ton of upside, tank fail > RoDi fail; I rather deal with freshwater over saltwater on the floors... Good luck with the cleanup, it looks like part of the CUC is ready to help. |

To all you who think laminate or any other floating floor will look nice in you kitchen don't do it . This is my second flood in five years .Thank god I had some leftover flooring I had two boards left after I was done re installing. In regards to how this flood happened will lets just say I clam all responsibility. Oh well lesson learned now its party time :drinking:

OH wow! it took you less than a day to fix all that? You work fast  Everytime I see a RO DI failure I cringe a little cause deep down inside I know I myself let out a few gallons or more onto carpet. Good thing for for wet vacs.

Nice work buddy! Only if my contractors moved that fast.....

I Got something new  After much internal debate I jumped on the band wagon. And I am happy to report no 70s show here. I really like these lights and with the apex there is full control with output and spectrum. I haven't seen to many reviews on the Kessil leds so I guess only time will tell but for now I am happy.
http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...pstosdtvp5.jpg And after 30 days corals appear to still be growing. http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2pu4hdvw.png http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7xsm7vqt.png Yes I measured the growth lol http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...pscfhl8793.jpg Blurry picture but you get the idea |

I thought I was taking them like kien:biggrin: But this morning when reviewing them I must have had on beer goggles. Photos always look great on a phone screen but still some of the better photos I have taking so I thought I would share them:mrgreen:

This is what happens when you 17 year old son decides to leave the back sliding door wide open all night . Lucky all is well in the tank it was just a little cool this morning to say the least. Lol |

Exactly the same thing just happened to me. The missus turned the heating off when she was tidying the house and we went away for the night. Came home and the house was really cold and the tank was 74°.
|
Thankfully it warmed up Thursday night I defently dodged another tempture bullet a few more degrees lower could have crashed the tank

I thought I would bump my thread being that my tank is turning two ! I am very lucky to report that I have managed to stop a RTN bleaching from the bottom up outbreak. I first noticed some bleaching on the base of a acro about a month and a half ago . I have experienced this before and lost a few big colonies so I acted fast cutting off the dead tissue fraging and re mounting the acro .
I would have been great if it stopped with one coral but the RTN seamed to jump from coral to coral bleaching about eight sps over a period of about a month. My parameters all seamed to be in good order , the one thing I did notice was by bio-pellets were clumping a little bit so I took them off line as well as my gfo just in case and have been running carbon only for the past few weeks . The good news is all the sps survived the RTN event some are just a little stubby now  Hear is a photo of my tank august 2013. http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4efa81cc.jpg And here is some photos last night http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...ps514eb18b.jpg http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...ps19789f38.jpg |
Well I should have knocked on wood or not posted that last post. I was sure I beat this dam STN but low and behold I have found two more Frags STNing 😬. I guess I was just being to dam cocky posting pictures of my tank live and learn I guess . Hmm back to step one wait and see. Fingers crossed or maybe I need a prayer recator.

Any corals STNing today so it's wait and see here on out . Any corals that show any STN will be removed from my tank immediately. |
Kessil vrs 250w mh
I was bored on the weekend and I was thinking about the good old day when I would run 500w of MH for 9 hours day. So I started to think to myself and then I was convinced that I had better colour when I was running my phoenix 250 watt 14k. So I thought I would do a side by side comparison to my a360we.
I was totally surprised that when I tunded the the kessil to 70% colour I could not see any or very little difference at all. I am sure the die hards will disagree but I here is a my photo. Sorry for the low quality but you get the idea  http://http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...psttlkvkjm.jpg |
Wow that's looking awesome! Love those mature colonies. Did you ever pick up a prayer reactor?
