A bit late as it's Wednesday however did make that call.

to quote "The Silicone I Windows and Doors formulation has not changed and is the same as in the past" also to quote "...other products do carry the mold inhibitor but this product does not."

So, from the makers mouth nothing has changed.

This is what I've always used and never had any issues. I believe this is what lockrookie was referring to earlier as well

Personally from now on regardless I will only be using GE SCS1200 period. I have used a couple other brands in the past but only those that state aquarium safe on it.

This has come up before and I contacted GE directly (nobody know more about a product than the manufacturer) as did others and all were told that this silicone is not aquarium safe. The product label itself states "NOT FOR: Surfaces that will exceed 400 degrees, food contact surfaces, aquariums." Whether this is just to cover their tails or not I can't say as I have used it in the past as well with no issues. But when the same company makes SCS1200 which is aquarium safe one has to wonder why the GE I brand says it's not.

I bought a tube of the GE Silicone 1* as listed on the first post, but I believe it is unfit for aquariums as it says contains petroleum distillates in very fine print on the back, and also says not for use below the waterline in aquariums.
