PS Brett...it was totally your facebook harassment ha ha
|
Welcome back Randi!!
Was wondering where you got off to... |
|
You know you'll need to replace the skimmer, light, add powerheads and who knows what else =) I'd try and find a small cube setup for sale locally and you'll get way more for your money.
No room for the canadian tire pool? |
Ha ha I was just going to remove the skimmer, light doesn't seem too bad for what I'd do with the tank. It's gotta be a type of setup that can maintain itself persay while I touch ground in Canada for the month legally required before coming back to Jersey until the green card hoopla goes through. And it's in a tattoo shop, so can't be anything too crazy.
Honestly, I'm thinking maybe some LPS, but primarily mushrooms, rics and zoas. With a damsel or something for movement. There's some cheap AIO setups at the LFS across the way, but for the mods I'd have to do it might end up being cheaper to just buy something like this. If I can talk the shop owner into a Red Sea Max we might go that route....BUT, I really like DIYing the eff outta stuff....so Maybe I just buy a tank and build it into an AIO....Either way, the tank can't have much (if any) of a sump because of room...so we'll see where this goes. |
Def sounds like you're gonna need a good ATO if you'll be mia a while (and a jumbo reservoir!)
|
The other artist here used to keep fish, so he'd be down to do weekly water changes and basic maintenance....but the more I think about it, the more I think a 20 gallon long or a 30 gallon is going to be the way to go. Not uber tiny, not overly expensive and can be made into a decent mini reef with some careful thought etc.
Damn this curse! damnit I tells ya!!! |
You'll be talking pool in the back of the shop before the day's out
I'm very familiar with size creep (head out of the gutter). |
hahaha it's always there! (how could you have forgotten this?)
The old shop had a 100 gallon Piranha tank in it until the shop burnt down in January...and it hit the boss pretty hard. He had some of the fish in that tank for close to 15 years, so just the fact that he's considering letting me put a tank in the shop is a big deal. I've got to make a plan, layout, cost per month blah blah blah....even though I said I'd eat the cost for setup. damn Americans can be pushy. |
HA! Randi I give you 6 months and you'll be looking at bigger & better. (We all have the itch, you can't control it.) You've already gone from an 8gal nano to a 30gal long and you haven't even started yet!
