As mentioned a pic of the plumbing hope it helps here.

It would be nice to have had a ball valve between the unit and the pump, the plumbing looks fine, however it may be restricted later depending what bulkheads you plumbed into, yes this is an older unit and the wet side magnets may be giving you an issue, it is an older style drum and the newer version is better suited to the pump you are using.

Just an update, as I have returned to work so have I to my tank
After talking with Paul (very knowledgable on his product) we fixed my hammering problem with no new parts and I even have been able to return the loc line onto the system . Very happy and would just like to take the time to thank again, Paul from Oceans Motions for his after sales service. PS.. I brought this 4-way second hand and its over 7yrs old and Paul did'nt bat an eyelid to roll up his sleves and talk out a solution. Paul, Great product and even better service BRAVO. Thanks again Steven Maxwell AKA MADKEENREEFER |
So what was the problem / solution?

Grizz,
The solution was to relive the system of the sudden closing of the ports whilst still handling the large amount of flow from the pump, for this I added a ball valve (which ended up being a blessing for maintenance) but is still left wide open so im not having to throttle back the pump either :). The key was to open the spool to relive the back pressure kinda like bleeding off the extra back pressure throu the closed ports, worked a treat. |
Cool sounds like it was a simple fix. I am planning on putting multiple loc-line on all my return's and hope it works well.
