I have a 10" Honeywell blowing on my sump and without it I'm sure my temps would be ridiculously high.

Troy, what kind of evaporation do you get with that?

Ok we're way off topic here. I am assuming these are standard production cars right. Are they souped up? I have a 92 2dr Jetta I wouldn't mind getting to go a little faster, or at least I'd like to learn how to handle it properly. Any websites relating to this?

Depends a bit on the humidity but around 3 maybe 4 gallons.

Cars have fans too.

We did it at the Westerner Park. They had a huge parking lot there and a 1km course was set up with cones. Anything from bone stock family wagons to custom built race cars attended. There are basically different classes depending on what car u have and what you've done to it to make it faster.

Check out the following sites:

http://cscc.speedracer.ca/phpBB2/ind...bca6f93ee9dcb6 (Calgary Sports Car Club forum)

www.vcmc.ca (Vancouver based, although we do have quite a few members from Alberta)

I'm quite involved in it so if you'd like I could hook you up with some Alberta based drivers and they would probably be able to better explain when and where they hold events there.

Here are a few pics of what we were doing. I hope the pics stay up!

Apparently the whole of Alberta was on fire when we got there...

If u guys want more pics i have tons more :)

Back to the fan in the sump

Is everyone just using little fans or 6"+ sizes? I just wanna get an idea of what to look for tomorrow at Canadian Tire. Don't really want to waste any money on useless fans, but I also don't wanna overdo it!

Thanks!

I find the bigger fan controls the heat very well.

LostMind 09-04-2003 07:15 AM

I havent been able to find any fans that would work in my sump :(

I have a windmere rotating fan sitting on a step stool blowing down into my sump thru the stand door. I want something that will sit inside the stand and blow on the sump directly

LostMind 09-04-2003 07:16 AM

btw sos - great pics.

I'm so jealous. I even see a pro5 in there... but I bet he is running stick, not auto like me ;)

Troy F 09-04-2003 03:12 PM

LM, try setting up some kind of rack and lay the fan across it facing down so it's pointing at the water.
