Although it is kind of sad seeing him gone, but the most important thing is what if he is dead and some how his body stuck in the rock or something. Will that makes water bad just like fresh water?

Tell me about it. One of my buddies gave me two hermit crabs. Found out later that thay where nothing but a manness. So started a tank for them allone. They fought. I have one now that is size of tennis ball. He can eat a 1-2" dead fish in a couple of hours. Lesson learned. BEWARE OF FRIENDS BEARING GIFTS.

Blue knucked hermit crabs. I don't see them being the problem. My thinking is that your flame angle past away, fell between the live rock and your cleaning crew did its job. Sorry about your loose, at least you known your cleaning crew is up to par. I looked at your tank tread. Nice tank! :

Your welcome. Fish are funny that way Heath, full of energy oneday and gone the next. Angles are tricky. One thing I can suggest is to monitor your tank in doing a fish counter everyday. Maybe check your tank in the middle of the night with moon light on to see if anything has hitch hiked in the past week.

Maybe the bubble ate him first off and the others just finished him off. I have heard that flame angels can just up and die as well. Sorry he is gone though it sucks when the just vanish.
