I'm so confused, what exactly do the expansion sockets do? How do I figure out if I need one or two?

expansion sockets are for the high powered equipment like dual 400W halides and 1/2 hp+ chillers that will typically need a separate circuit to avoid blowing the fuses in your electrical panel.
