I also have a Won Brothers Digital Display thermometer. It works awsome. The only problem is that they are not CSA approved, therefore if your house burns down due to the heater your not covered. This is why, this model is not sold in canada, or at least when I bought mine..that could have changed

Invigor thats what i ment when i said wons i am running the model with no LCD 150 watts keeps my discus tank at a constant 86 in my cold basement so i know they are worth it. I would like to get a LCD model. If you want to get one i can ship you one like mine. I can post a pic if you want.

heater

ebo here too.

I used Ebo's for years and got fed up because the temperature would wander by several degrees. Never had an out and out failure though.

Now I've switched to Won titanium heaters. Not the kind with the LCD temperature readout, those ones have been implicated in too many disasters according to my RC search. The simple Won titanium heaters with no LED readout have worked well for me. They keep the temperature quite steady.

Im running about 20 won bro's (good price in a group order last year)...from 50w glass to 500w titaniums and everything in between

the 500w titan (non lcd) crapped out in a month, is either permanently on or permanently off. now just whack the controller from the left for on and from the right for off  works fine for keeping a 300g barrel at temp

50w's (all 4) cant get a 10g over 78'F

350w titans and 300w glass have been great, although some of the 300's (4 outta 6) need to be set anywhere from 79 to 89 on the dial to hold 86'F in the tank. however once they're set they dont drift. running 4 350w titans and no complaints on those

no complaints on the 100w and 150w glass heaters either

that sound like a pretty crappy record for won bros dude! maybe theres a reason they won't do the csa.

Ryan 02-08-2005 05:46 PM

Maybe Josh just got the crap end of the stick. I regualrly BS Discus with another guy that got in on that order and he keeps won in all his discus tank with no problem. That is where i got mine and i will probaly go back for another so my heater doesnt have to work so hard.
