Everything, anemones included.

I buy a HUGE bag of PE mysis, go to the store and buy some cheap squid, shrimps, I add in some freeze dried cyclopeeze, zoe, and golden pearls and shove it in the tank =)

i make mine in a bit smaller batches and freeze it in the little trays i kept from some commercially frozen product. 1 clam, 3 or 4 small bay scallops, 1 prawn, 2 or 3 shrimp, a whole lot of okanagan lake mysis shrimp, and 1 small squid. I chop this up with a clove of garlic really fine and freeze it. When it is time to feed i break off a cube and soak it in salt water from my tank. I add some flake saved from the bottom of last can, with some spray freeze dried plankton ( I swear by this stuff) available at wai's in calgary, and some selcon. stir it all up and feed with a turkey baster lightly puffing it over all my corals etc. everything in the tank opens up when i feed, including a wierd christmas tree coral (that was the name i got when i bought it- it looks like a xmas tree shaped acropora but it is quite soft) that only opens at night and when i feed this stuff.

Its not puree cyclops-eeze...I mean I put cyclops-eeze into a blender and blend the snot out of it. I feed all of my fish this: clowns, 6-line, goby. I feed larger chunks to the anenomes, and small pieces to the suncorals. The mysid I by from Big Als (though it is probably cheaper elsewhere). Everything else is from the grocery store. |
Hey thanks everyone for all your home made recipe idea's!
