Funny you say that. My buddy came by today and that's what we came up with. He's got a stud finder for me. I figured the wood strip is the best way to centre the light since I can't count on the studs to work out perfectly even for me. Just need to make it look half decent so the wife doesn't give me an earfull. :lol:

length of thick decorative wood trim from home depot perhaps? Trouble would be finishing the ends tho.
