Haha, yeah, I work at a mechanic shop and we use the blue nitrile gloves. I have 3 full boxes sitting on my tool box, so I'll just snag a hand full of them :redface: And thanks, pics would help; but I think I understand what you mean with the tape. All I need now is to find a local supply of some of the reef safe silicone.

Use GE Silicone Type I (GE 1200 is better if you can find it - good luck)
Do one corner at a time.
Clean area thoughly (use razor blade)
Masking tape 1/2 max from corner
Run a continuous, uniform bead of silicone up corner
Smooth with back of plastic spoon
Remove tape immediately

Hi, I know this is a old post, but just for if anyone in Chilliwack is wondering, They have the GE Silicone Type I at walmart in two packs for about $8 and Rona always has it for around $5 a tube. You want to make sure its the blue and white tube. DO NOT Get the red and white tube. Iv used this on my sump and overflow and it worked great. Also make sure to look at the color because it comes in clear white and black though the black isnt often in stock

Home Hardware has a tube of Silicone, teal coloured tube, actually says "Safe for Aquariums" right on the front. 3.99. Or the 3 pack is 9.99.

I honestly find if you put a bit of spit on your finger before you start, for whatever reason, the silicone doesnt stick to youre finger.:wink:
