I'd say no. That only gives an extra 6 inches of width. Not much for all the stress...

true....but i hate my hang on back lifereef overflow box its ugly and im thinking internal center overflow with diy rockwall back ground to reduce having to scrape the backglass and starfire glass 3 sides. tank has a few scratches that peev me off. as well is tempered and i cant drill it. this tank is in our living room, the first thing i see in am and last i see at night... id love to put a bigger tank in the spot. but i think the weight would be to much.

what spawned this is that i can get a 180g tank with crack infront pane for 180$. i can take it apart have the glass re sized and replace the three sides with starphire for less than buying all new glass for the existing tank. as well since the tank will be off the stand and i can possibly rebuild the lower partitions and reinforce to add a larger sump with refugium instead of the tiny 20g sump that is there. when i built the stand i had it for a freshwater tank. never thought id be doing salt.

ok that was more than a random thought but its my thought process at this time lol

Waking up at 4 am to the return pump sucking air and stepping in a puddle while inspecting is nevera good thing.
