Thanks all. I just needed to get that off my chest.

SeaHorse_Fanatic 06-03-2015 08:04 AM

Sorry to hear. My dad is in his 70s and I worry about both my parents as they are in their golden years. I hope everything works out with your father.

Anthony

What's wrong is that I can't even make toast. My toaster is packed away somewhere in my garage with the rest of my kitchen

Such a sore spot, but funny we're both going through it. 6 weeks in so far, just starting to rebuild today. Cabinets 6 weeks out :(

mike31154 06-03-2015 04:25 PM

Come now gentlemen, no kitchen no toast? Time to get creative,. Got a BBQ or fire pit, Coleman stove? Are you the bread winners of the house or not?

Aquattro 06-03-2015 04:31 PM

S'ok, I don't eat bread. :)

ya no kidding! And here's something funny.. when I came home to my flooded kitchen the first thing I did was google for a clean up crew to come in and help with the clean up. I found a local company and right on the front page of their website they had a picture of a dishwasher completely overflowing and flooding a kitchen. I thought to myself, holy crap I pitty the guy that has that happen to them! I guess that guy was you.

Our entire kitchen has been torn down as of yesterday. Today I think all the flooring in our house gets ripped out. Friday i have a meeting with my insurance adjustor to decide what the rebuild process will look like. In the meantime we are eating out a lot and making the kids lunches and eating breakfast in their bedrooms

kien 06-03-2015 06:49 PM

And on a reef related note.. all week as the clean up clean up crew has been working on our house ripping apart our kitchen and the room that was flooded underneath the kitchen they have been turning off the breaker which happens to include the tank. So far every day this week (and last weekend) they have been forgetting to turn the breaker for the tank back on so I've been coming home from work to a dark and still tank  So much fun I can't contain myself right now.

Offer them cookies as bribes to turn the breaker on when they are done for the day

No, explain to your adjuster that the contractor actions will result in the cost of the claim going up when your tank dies.

Better yet have them install a separate circuit as shutting off tank is not acceptable at all.

Compared to the salt thread? Meh it's a toss up.

Aquattro 06-05-2015 02:19 AM

Everything needs some type of outlet, bottle it all up, it eventually blows. Trust me, I'm a pro at this stuff

gregzz4 06-05-2015 06:18 AM

I still like you Brad, even with the warning  (although I was too timid to post something about it in the salt thread :surprise: )

gregzz4 06-05-2015 01:21 PM

Man, and I hardly even did anything.
Ya see kids, hangin' out with the wrong crowd can get you in all kinds of trouble and leave ya scarred for life.
Been there, have the scar.

I apologized for that. And it makes you look tough with your shirt off. And I'm sorry you got arrested, and sorry we nearly killed you driving 140mph, and sorry the cop stuck a gun in your face. Oh wait, that was my face. lol

I know how you feel. That's what I said after strike one AND two. Can't wait until Jan 1 when I'm cleared of all my alleged transgressions and I turn over that new leaf.

From the back seat all I could see was the speedo
"The lines on the road just look like dots"

If I wasn't so freaked out I may have gotten sea sick from that land yacht floating and swaying

You got it right Mike. From where I was sitting, the song is very fitting.

For anyone following this and is too young to understand mph, 165mph is 265kph
And that's in a 2ton car.

Quick summary. A buddy stole his dad's car, picked me up. Greg lived next door and we all went for a ride. Cop tries to pull us over on Taylor Way in West Van, high speed pursuit to Lynn Canyon park in a 440 big block Cordoba, West Van, RCMP everywhere, ended with three kids in jail :) I was 17, driver was 15, Greg was about that. Fun night (due to the fact we didn't die).
