Thanks Leah, I try to keep all my fishes nice and chubby. I feed them strictly on pellets and nori. once in a blue moon I'll feed frozens.

I really like the acan garden too. I am hoping that it will fill up the whole bottom.

Rich, your tanks are looking awesome as always! Looks like you will be needing to set up a frag tank for the frag tank...

No, the garage is not heated, the frag tank is sitting around 22 degree celcius.:surprise: Surprising enough the sps aren't affected by it. knock on wood.

kien 01-23-2013 07:36 PM

your clams do look pretty happy in there.

by the way, some of those "frags" are not frags. They're colonies. That's false advertising !

I like the frag garden. You have so many

kien 01-25-2013 11:35 PM

looks awesome man! So let us review, what's your husbandry like these days?

freezetyle 01-26-2013 02:38 AM

You've got more frags then most stores! and there all Beautiful. Love the little clown tang too

Stones 01-26-2013 01:35 PM

Gorgeous looking tank! I'm super jealous you are able to keep both SPS and LPS happy and healthy in the same system.

mseepman 01-26-2013 03:29 PM

So on your LPS, I'm assuming there is some rock under them, but as they grow, will they just expand onto the sand bed?

Rice Reef 01-26-2013 08:12 PM

Mitras

So, Rich... Now that you've had the Mitras over your tank how about a review and when will you be hanging 6 over your tank?

Thanks stones, I will try to post some better pictures. I have a large fish load and feed the crap out of them, literally. Combine that with aggressive nutrience export and that's how I keep both happy.

I am not quite sure, I just kind of drop them where they land.

Water changes every 2 weeks (40 gallons) with instant ocean and some calcium additive from bulk reef, just cause I have some left. very mininum zeovit or for that matter any other additives, mostly K-balance. I clean my skimmer every 3-4 days and its just nasty. Filter socks is the same, every 2-3 days swap out. Thats about it bud. I do siphon the sand every few month and blow off the rock and around the sps with a turkey baster. Major elements are supplied by vertex calcium reactor and avast kalk stirrer. My levels are usually around 7dkh 380-420 calcium and mag is .....

9.. 6 for DT, 2 for frag tank and 1 for sump

Lance 01-26-2013 11:15 PM

Very nice!

Rice Reef 01-29-2013 05:51 AM

Rich, it was great hanging out with you and Peter again! The tank is amazing as always... One can really lose track of time just standing in front of your display tank... The variety of fish and corals... Can't help but feel like I am actually in the reef! And then there is the famous frag tank... It is finally nice to see some space in there ( ). Id give it a few weeks and you'll probably have it full with new and rare frags again. Glad I was able to take some vids of your tank. I don't look at my tank anymore.

Looking forward to your video composition soon!

Bblinks 01-29-2013 08:52 PM

Wayne,

Thanks very much for taking the video for me, much appreciated! I will have the video up as soon as I get some time to edit it. You know you guys are real jerks.:twised: Now I want to switch up my AI sols for some colors. Maybe I will have to sell my 12 sols and buy some fancy ones like the Mitra or Vegas but .....pipe dreams. lol
