Looks promising Bob. Looking forward to the longterm progress of this build.

Are the shafts and the screws titanium? I just pulled the plastic threads out of on of the skimmer bolts last night, no big deal but i see that those have some sort of inserts.

Shafts look to be a ceramic, but the bolts do screw into metal sleeved inside the body of the pump. Seem like a solid build.

Thanks Dez, I will see if I can get over there for some frags in the next 6 months. Build got off to a good start, but between the girls and work, this build has been at a standstill for a while. Hope to get a few things done in the next couple of weeks.
Your tank looks wicked by the way, going to have to stop by one of these nights and have a good look again, have been there for a while. Hows the family? Good I hope.

What's the wattage? I was planning to use a stock laguna max-flo for some savings and I'm curious...

When I talked to the rep. I think he told me between 175-190 watts, I will have to have a look in the specs to confirm. I looked at the maxflo 4200 as well, specs have it at a little lower wattage, but I liked the construction of the sicce body and impellers better.
I have two Brett, your welcome to take one for a test on your tank if you want, I can bring it in to cowtown next time Im in if you want.

So heres a couple of pics, probably not the best, but you get the idea. Have a lot to do on it yet, probably start the woodwork in the next couple of weeks, as well as the rock work.

Going to try the tunze waveboxes out, I have four of them but decided to take and mount 2 on the far end on separate brackets(thanks Tony). I modified the brackets a bit to accommodate the cords going up through the bulkheads. I think it gives it a cleaner look.

How did I miss when you first showed that overflow cover?! That looks incredible and you'll have a decent clearance still for coral growth too. Very nice!
