Sorry to hear bout the leopard Jeff........one loss isnt all that bad for a transfer though *knocks on glass*
on a side note thats one beut of a skimmer:wink: |
Can't wait to see the final arrangement
|
Sorry 'bout the wrasse, he was sweet but I'm glad he was the only loss.
I don't think anybody ever does a major tank reno and gets it done before midnight of the planned day  I want to know how you managed to hide the skimmer in the rock - You'd swear it wasn't in the tank at all! So, the rock that took up so much of the other tank sure looks small in its proper home, ... You're getting more, right? Or were you going to aquascape it to get the open look like Kien's? |

Doug - does the skimmer look familiar to you? The wasse was a super little guy - my kids had named him Elvis, it was a little sad telling them:sad: I wont be adding anymore rock - I even got rid of a bunch. I am going to have one main structure then a zoa garden. I should have some aquascaping pics up here in a bit. |
Looking good! Sorry to hear about the wrasse...It's never easy to give that kind of news to kids.
|
What are you going to use as a base for the zoa's, besides the main stack?
Or were you hoping they'd grow on the glass for easy harvesting/fragging? |
Aquascaping
Well I got a start on the aquascaping.
It was/is my intention to have the main structure solid and permanent. Most of it was connected using 1/2" acrylic tubing. Each rock was drilled using a 1/2" massonary bit. I was very surprised at how easy it was to drill the rock. FYI - if your going to do this - I bought the cheapest bit ($8.00) I could find at Canadian tire and it was a breeze. I have a glass bottom at the time but will be going to sand in the near future. Best thing for Zoas for growth is to put them where you want them and don't move! Over the next week I will get it how I want it. http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/IMG_4312.jpg One on my clams http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/IMG_4311.jpg Clowns Buddy  http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/IMG_4309.jpg As I already said I am not totaly done but it is a good start. Next on the list: 1 - finish plumbing 2 - trim the top ledge in maple 3 - build canopy and cover overflow to wall. 4 - think of whats going to be next  One thing about this hobby a person can always find something to work on. Then when you think you have it all complete - time for a bigger tank:lol: So what do you all think? Jeff |
great job on the move! I know exactly how stressful, messy and potentially demoralizing it can be! I think you executed it wonderfully!
Also, great job on the aquascaping! |
Looking Good! Not a huge fan of the output but otherwise looking really good. Lets see another FTS with the stand in the pic
|
I think the output is temporary. Right Jeff?
