American Railcar Industries Inc., (US:arii) the St. Charles, Mo., railcar producer, reported fourth-quarter earnings rose 28% on 2.1% lower revenue and said it agreed to cooperate with Amtek to produce and sell railcars in India and Southeast Asia. Earnings reached $7.9 million, or 37 cents a share, from $6.1 million, or 29 cents, in the year-earlier period. A survey of three analysts by FactSet Research produced a consensus estimate of 25 cents a share for the quarter.
