When ever I turn my lights in during the day, this green like algae grows on the right side if my tank sand bed. When I turn the lights off, the green algae goes away. I kinda feel like this may be caused from my lights being old. I'm new to this so input is greatly appreciated. I could be way wrong so please help

Im not 100 percent sure, but I think if green algae. It could be too much nutrients in tank or too much light..
Dark red algae is more of a old light sign... can somebody back me up on this?

I'm having the same problem with hair algae. I've been battling it for months! I just added a phosban reactor with rowaphos a couple months ago. It's slowed down but still a pain to get under control

Im pretty sure if you cut down the lighting it will help too.. but it xould be high nutrients in system or your livw rock is full of crap

I'm thinking maybe there's crap in my rock. I shut my system down last winter for a while because I was out of town working so much. I just shut the lighting at temp off and kept circulation. If I cut back on lighting am I going to have issues with my sps?

Your sps should be fine, just cut down a couple hours.
