Ive got pink sponge like this growing all over my tank.
Its even growing under frag plugs and gluing them to the rock under. seems impossible to separate.
its kind of spikey too. looks just like this

is it ok or should i be trying to get rid of it?

Ive got some of that, i just leave it, doesn't seem to hurt anything.

you should harvest and culture it. Hardy colourful sponges are hard to come by!!

I have the same plus some yellow, white and blue. My favorite though is some black sponge that grow in tower like manner. it's a gray-blue color, very dark. It can burn bad when touched right.
