I rearranged the tank a bit yesterday, and here it is compared to the same time last year. Now with 10k, last year with Radiums.

I like the lighting in the top shot and the arrangement in the bottom one.

The lighting unfortunately doesn't photograph well. The Radiums (to me) look much better in person.
The tank last year was certainly better landscaped than now, but a few months worth of new growth should fix that. The rock is almost the same, I just lost a number of larger colonies this spring.

Is there some eggcrate over the bracing in the Radium shot? I'm not sure what I'm seeing, maybe it's just some pixellation in the photo itself?

Brad, did you switch to 10K because of Radium life or other reasons?

Caps take up a lot of room, so I haven't decided if I'll keep any. I have a small frag of purple, orange and green, and for now they can stay, but the mother colonies are for sale right now.

Doug, I have temporarily gone back to 10k just to give a jumpstart to growth. I lost a lot of coral this year and need to fill in some areas. The radiums are sitting in the cabinet waiting to go back on, as they are my favorite bulb. Realistically though, they will only last a maximum 8 months on the Son Agro ballasts. I will continue to use them though.

I like them both Brad. I wish my tank looks like that one day

BTW, what size is that?

Robert, buy a bunch of little frags and water them a lot. In no time your tank will look like that too.

It's a 155g

Beautiful tank Brad. I have to agree with your taste in lighting. I prefer the radiums to the 10K on the son agro ballasts. I had one of my radiums crack this past weekend because of salt splash and replaced it with a 10K bulb. Its hard looking at the 10K side compared to the ice blue of the radiums. You have a wonderful selection of sps. Where do you buy most of your acros.

Congrats.

Thanks Andy. My favorite place to shop is at Jamie's house!!
My acros come from all over. J&L, Seacare, Ocean Aquatics, and lots from private sales/trades.

Ahhhh. Jamie's place. That explains a lot. He has incredible acros. I hope to get out to the west coast some time and see all your tanks out there. Do you QT your new acquisitions before you add them to your system.

Hopefully someday mine will look half as good as your does.
