They've shut down the power in my evacuated community. I don't know how long it has been out or how long it will continue to be out. I don't even know if I will be able to get back into my community to rescue my fish but I am going to try to in a few hours. Other possibility I'm looking into is a generator or UPS.

If anyone in the city has some room for some fish I would appreciate it!

Let me know if you need a hand Kien. I could probably handle your inverts and smaller fish if needed.

Ok, I still have my 55 gl tank, it's empty, I have salt water made up and can make more to fill. Not ideal but available if needed. I still have most of my equipment and can move rock from my other tank.

I've offered my other tank to someone already but will do what I can to help!

My 180 is available again, the reefer found a generator and should be able to keep his fish at home!

I'm stocked but could make it work if needed!

Canadian tire has lots of Gensets available. I'm picking up a 2000 right now. $380.

More then enough to run a small return pump, heaters, and power heads.

I'm home today too, I have power and a big tank. I can take almost anything that won't eat clams.

Kien shared an update on Facebook and managed to get a generator on his tank. 3 fish dead but he thinks he caught it in time to prevent further casualties.

Kien,

Weren't you at the Boston Marathon during the bombing too? Now the record floods in Calgary.

No offence bud, but stay East of the Rockies:wink::razz: They say "disasters happen in 3s":surprise:

JK. I really love how the reefing community has again shown its great heart in a time of crisis. Just awesome people.

Did you loose power too? Just wondering how your tank is doing? Anyone know anything about Greg's (Snappy's) tank? Hope everything is ok

Greg's tanks should be fine, he's pretty far away from the evacuated areas.

Sorry to hear you lost a few of your fish. I can't imagine what you and the folks in Calgary are experiencing but it has hit home for me to make certain I have an emergency kit available at all times as this can happen to everyone regardless where we live. I prey for you and your family and everyone affected by the flood to remain strong as you will get through this.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support. I have provided a somewhat lengthy and novelized update of my situation in tank thread.

Yes, you are correct. I was at the Boston bombin's too! However, I like to look at it another way. I have horse shoes up my butt as I appear to have escaped both events unscathed !

.. stay tuned for my next calamity where I will likely be escaping raging forrest fires.

On the bright side... it probably won't be for a day or two...things might need to dry out a we bit. :twised:
