Bulk Reef Supply Group Order for June/July

Liz has been running the BRS group buys for awhile, however; it seems she was banned a few weeks ago before she was going to put the next one through. I'm sure there's a good reason for her leaving, so - I figured I would get the ball rolling since I have a big list in my checkout, and like everyone - it's good to save a buck!

I'll take over where she left off:

Email or pm me your email address that you use for your BRS account as well as your last name*. - Very Important!

This order will close June 25th if we have at least 10 people.

If you don't have a BRS account then head on over to their website and set one up!

We need 10 members to qualify for the group buy pricing so sign on up!

***You are not obliged to buy anything so if you are just thinking about it sign up anyways in case you change your mind!***

The duty and custom charges are looked after by BRS. All you pay for is shipping fees and taxes and it is shipped right to your door!

I got ahold of BRS - our accounts will reflect group buy pricing tomorrow (Tuesday) until Monday of next week.

Discount did not apply when I logged in. It was only about $5 off the regular pricing. Used the online chat and spoke to Ryan. He then adjusted the price and it came properly. Then again was only $10 and not much of a discount compared to Canadian vendors (due to shipping/duty).

Well, my account hasn't reflected it either. The person who does the group-buys does everyones all in one day (all the group buys from around the world) so it sometimes takes him all day to do it. If it hasn't been reflected yet, please be patient - I'll give him a call this afternoon and see what's up.

In regards to the price and the discount, yes - some things are not worth it, where others are. It doesn't hurt to compare. I'm all about supporting local vendors, however; if we can all save a couple bucks in the end through a Group-Buy, then why not?

From past group buys that I've been involved in, unless you get an e-mail from BRS saying it's set up, those prices won't be there yet. Best bet is to wait until that confirmation from them has been sent.

I called them, he said he didn't receive a group-buy form. I told him to check again, then he found it, and said I need to fill out the application, then he looked at it and realized it was in fact the application, then said he would add all the accounts in the next 10 minutes.

So. Hopefully we'll all see it by 3:30PM today.

Well that sucks... not 1 of the products i want changed in price. Guess bubble magus is discounted as much as it can. At least the group buy prices won't be on forever but we do get the slightly discounted for good on our accounts.

All my items aren't discounted either. (Ati bulbs) actually costs me more to buy them with preferred pricing and send them here than it does to use my $5 off code and send them to my mailbox in Bellingham.

I'm in the same boat with my package, only one of my items was discounted (2-part with dosers) by $20. It's something, but everything else wasn't discounted at all. I'll see about getting a PO box in Point Roberts or something to get this shipped over. Might work out better. Plus I absolutely loathe UPS. But it does say free shipping over $175!

I've been using Pacific Mail and Parcel by the truck crossing.

We've been using then for years since it is much faster than waiting for it to come across the border.

I will be getting the items probably the same time you will, so I can buy your items for you, ship it to the address, then you can pick it up from me at my work in Richmond, my other work in Coquitlam, J&L Aquatics, or home in Surrey. That way, you don't have to pay for shipping!

All you would need to do is PM me the item you wish to purchase, paypal me the amount in USD and I'll buy it for you - and supply you with a tracking number. Once it arrives, I'll let you know and we can go from where you wish to pick up from.

Probably wait off until the end of this month for the next one. I ran into some issues with BRS during the ordering process. I also haven't gotten my items yet, so until then I can't critique their performance and if money was saved overall.

On a side note; hopefully everyone got a sizable bounty. What did others end up getting?

I ended up with some odds and ends. Check valve, DI refill, GFO, CoralRX and the 2 part/w dosers!

I picked up 2 - 1 gallon jugs of mag sulfate, mag chloride, calcium for me and another local reefer, a bunch of bulkheads, a couple years worth of rodi filters and some gate valves. Shipping sucks though. Gotta find a local supplier.

Steve, it is too late, the group buy ended yesterday. Look out for the one next month!

I ended up paying nothing for shipping. I have a post office just across the border that holds the package for $3 a day. I just need to brave the border and pray they don't make me pay duties on them. And I'll get gas at $0.99/L while I"m there, too!

Picked mine up last Friday (July 5th). I think it actually arrived on the 3rd. Pretty fast when you have it shipped to a US address. Good think I love only 30 minutes from the box. Plus I can pick up a tank of gas while I'm there!
