I have just hung my new PFO 175W pendant above my 50. It looks like there will be plenty of light except for the problem you can see in the picture. I realise this has been talked about before, but I am hoping someone will be able to help me fix this in a relatively easy manner  BTW the problem is not as bad in person as in the picture. So it need not be done immediately.

Sure, but for how long  I don't think it would be safe to have no cross brace.

It's quite easy BOB to bolt in a clear acrylic cross brace.
Mine you it's much easier to do it with an empty tank.

Thanks Jon, but I suppose I have used the best cure of all. I just added the pendant that was made by quickgrow. I now have a pendant on each side. If I get upset at my electrical bill, I can always remove the cross brace. But since I am using less that 500W on both tanks, it should be no problem.

The cross brace is probabily not doing anything anyway. Just there like the rest of the frame to make you feel better.

How big is the tank? I have a 6' tank with no cross brace and it has been fine for the 15 or more years I have had it. Could depend on who made the tank though.

The fuzzy sticks are in my cube, which had one of the halides above it. When the light was there they looked good. That tank is now lit with PC"s The problem now is that the banished Yellow Clown Goby, which is a SPS destroyer is in the 50, and I am not about to tear that tank apart to catch it. Therefore the fuzzy sticks will have to stay in the cube for now.
