I bought a 4 - 5" rabbitfish a few months ago in anticipation of my new big tank which I don't have yet. Would like to see it in a better home. Looking for a meager trade, something to make it worth catching and delivering within Calgary.

Do you have any pics? What size tanks would you recommend for the fish?

Most will tell you they need similar space as a Tang, and this one is already a good size, Danny. Considering your stocking levels and tank size you might want to wait for a baby, if this fish really appeals to you.

Let's hear from some owners...

Don't have any pictures.
He's about the same size as my full grown yellow tang, but not nearly as comfortable.
Outgrew a 155 Deb? That surprises me!

Now you have me worried. I just got a 3" foxface for my 130, I hope he doesn't out grow it. He's still in QT, but alls well so far. He won't go for the nori, but frozen mysis is greedily consumed. I got him to be an algae eater, but that's looking like a bust. Oh well hes kinda cool anyhow. Sits an watches me here at the computer now waiting for more mysis. He get excited everytime I get close to the tank.

Yes, my Siganus unimaculatus (one spot foxface) was about 7" when I gave him to Carpentersreef. He had more trouble with the width of the tank than the length (you know how they don't bend very well..)

Mine is the scribbled rabbitfish. Goes crazy over nori and pecks away at algae. Very timid around me but friendly with all the fish and critters. Gets a nice rosy, salmon colour after feeding.

I'm kind of partial to the foxface, and I haven't given up hope for him beconming a grazer once he's in the main tank. I don't know that he'd be any better in your situation than the one you have. If I had known about yours before I bought mine, I would have gladly given you all my damsels for him

Well, figured since he's smaller the foxface would be more comfortable than the rabbit until I do get the big tank. Not the ideal solution though. Have to remind myself to be patient again.

All I want for the rabbitfish now is a good home and a tour of your tank. If anyone in Calgary wants him let me know and I'll bring him over.
Thanks
