I'm just wondering if I should upgrade my MH's. I currently have 2- 175w 10000K ushios. I have some sps, and they are doing great. My Acro's are doing good to but they lost there colour. If I upgrade my lighting will there colour come back? Or does there colour have to do with water quality? Thanks

Water quality and lighting and other stuff play a part in sps color. I would make sure the water quality was perfect before spending money. Are you using RO? Frequent partial water changes? Any detectable PO4? Things like that.

I do regular water changes with RO/DI and IO salt. I do have an on going algae problem, but test kits come up with good results.

If you have algae growing in your tank, you'll also have alage growing in your corals (zooxanthallae), and that algae is brown. More water changes, and maybe PO4 exportation (kalk with skimming, PO4 removing media) might be needed.
