So I'm in vancouver and I'm picking up some frags, any suggestions on how to keep the frags until tomorrow when I go home?

If possible couldn't you pick them up tomorrow on your way home?

this just seems like a bad idea all around.
Best bet would be to set up an insulated, dark holding tank and use an inverter or battery to have an airstone and a heater going till you get home...

I've got a heater, air pump and a cooler here, so I'm probably just gonna put them in there for the night

depends..softies..no problem..lps..pretty good odds...sps..risky. need stable temps and water flow. I'm not suggesting this..but I have moved sps wrapped in wet newspaper with fantastic results. (when I moved from Kelowna to Lethbridge)

Hasn't anyone ever ordered these on line and got overnight shipping. I'm no expert on this, but I would have thought in a styrofoam cooler with a heat pack would have been fine.

During the so called "overnight" shipping, the sellers don't put in heater or battery powered power airpumps in the insulated styrofoam they put the corals in. ;) Not to mention, "overnight" only means that the package will be on flight overnight but sits in the office for 24 hours or more.

Here's a good article that should be inspiring :D

I've done the Vancouver run and kept frags in a cooler for 2 days with a heater and powerhead. I used a inverter for power in the car. No problems at all.

I went on holidays to Malaysia, 17 hour flight alone. You can bet shipments from Asia are packaged, shipped, picked up and unpacked by the wholesaler in no less than 24 hours.

Thanks for the advice everyone! The corals that I did keep overnight had no issues, full polyp extension within 20 minutes of being put in the tank. worth the trip to vancouver
