So I inherited this fish when I set up my Biocube14. It had been living in my friends laundry room for a few months in an unlit tank with no tank mates. I estimate it to be about 4 years old. Obviously I'm limited in how many fish I can keep in a Biocube 14, and this Royal gramma is pretty big already for this tank. The local store offered to put it in the mantis tank, and I guess that's where it will end up if no one wants it. I can probably catch him this weekend, if no one takes him then he will be at the mercy of Sheldon the Peacock mantis.

I could see an LFS not caring about a pseudo chromis (looks like a Gramma) but not sure why they would potentially sacrifice a peaceful fish like a Gramma.

Maybe try a better store that if they take it in they will find a good home. Any LFS can sell a Gramma.

Ludicrous to accept an offer from a store like that. Shop elsewhere.

Good luck finding a home. I'm sure you will.

I could put it in one of my tanks if you can't re home it..... That's horrible offering to feed it to a mantis!
