Are these snail eggs? The pattern is simply mind blowing!

Yes.

End up being fish food long before they amount to anything

LOL not really. Lately my tank is acting really weird. Saved it from a crash and after waking up today, I saw my 1" hippo tang inside the mount of the maxi mini. Alongside, i noticed this. I cannot catch a break :(

It'll come around. It's a hard way to learn. But it's the best way. You can ask for all the advise possible but only you will know the tank. Once it's back on track and matures a bit you will be happy once again

Side note

You no longer need to run from the tang po-po

Myself I wouldn't take snail eggs as a bad sign I would think that's kinda cool plus it's what the do in nature

I still have a big kole tang in there so I am still a fugitive :P

I am just sad because this wonderful thing will be eaten as soon as the fishes find out about it :(

I am sorry to hear that your hippo did not make it.

Please do not replace her as your tank is too small for a tang.
Tangs are swimmers and require the swimming room that larger tanks provide.

Go slowly. Wait until your tank matures and look forward to the day when you can provide the size of tank (6 footer).

Yap I won't be adding a hippo any more. Problem was it was way too small for my tank (hard to believe but it was hardly an inch and I could see it was very intimidated by the size). I didn't want to add any hippo/yellow in my tank (hence the kole tang) but the size of that hippo was too adorable. Oh well :(

I have had so many snail eggs in my tank I swear it a breeding ground fortunately all my fish except my lawnmower Blennie love the eggs and as soon as they appear they become fast food literally....

They may not be eaten I've got many different sizes of nassarius snails in my tank from all of the eggs laid by the couple original snails.

Mine are still there and the fishes didn't seem to have noticed it yet. Clever snails I guess :P
