2 very different markets. Vancouver has several places where you can get a bucket for $30. Here, probably $36 - $38...

Yeah that kinda what I thought, im used to paying $40, but nobody in town seems to have anything under $60.

My regular store charges less than that for a bucket.

Your right actually! I was thinking of the 200 gallon box, not the pail. Everyone else in town is way higher though.

Still might make a trip to the mainland, or the states. If I'm going there anyways I might as well get it then and save a few bucks.

You guys need to start buying in bulk! If you buy half a dozen buckets or more and ask real nice I bet your LFS will cut you a deal. ;) Keep in mind too that IO and RC go on sale a few times a year from distributors, but the sale is not always passed on to us! Ask to order your salt during the next sale. :D

I have no problem paying for salt. It's the cheapest part of the hobby :)

I spend $400-500 on salt annually. Its the second most expensive thing about this hobby after electricity in terms of operating expenses for my tank. But try King Eds like Werbo said. Buckets were $30+tax for me too back in November so I bought a truck load.

I would sure be interested in buying a bunch if anyone else wanted to go in on an order for Victoria/island.

or maybe a road trip to van with a share of the costs covered by all the buyers??

we'd need to coordinate with the lfs though - to ensure they had enough for us - so it's not a wasted trip.
