I was looking at the fuel band and after a few Google searches realized there were many choices like the the fuel band. Like the amiigo, jawbones up, and more.
Anyone have experience with any of these?
I'm mainly looking at the fuel band because I can buy one that is waterproof so I can use it while swimming as well... But any experience with any would be great.
Thanks.

What's the objective of this within your training plan?

I just was thinking of tracking different work out activities to look back and see what I was doing mostly when I noticed physical improvements.

(plus they are cool)

And Kein EWWWW!

I've read that the output can be quite variable in accuracy on these types of devices, so if it's just a curious interest, it should be fine, but if you're attempting to reach performance or weight loss goals, it might not give you the right info.

Very true I am amazed that very few of these have a heart rate monitor. One of the most important devices in any training.

I think I'm stuck with the fuel band as It's the only one I can buy that has been waterproofed I tend to swim more than any other cardio activity now a days.

I think I've only ever used my HR strap once. It was annoying to wear. :)

I would never trust an accelerometer to accurately track my workouts. What it sounds like you are looking for is this: www.runkeeper.com

and possibly this (https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/runkeeper-gps-track-running/id300235330?mt=8) and/or this (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fitnesskeeper.runkeeper.pro&hl=en).

Also, yes, that Kein guy is gross!

True they are sometimes uncomfortable but when I started I found it invaluable to hit my taget heart range and maintain it. After 5 or so years I know it by feel and dont use it anymore but I recommend it to everyone just starting any new activity until they get to the point where they can feel their own comfot zone.

I don't really run (to many knee surgeries) anymore so kinda useless for me. I was looking at this though..

don't let the name fool you. It tracks/logs more than just running. Pretty much any activity under the sun. I track running, swimming, cycling, walking, figure skating, weights, etc.

Garmin works too. If you're really serious you can get the 910xt which can count swim laps. I have a lot of friends using the garmin and they still import their garmin data into runkeeper because RunKeeper is more fun :-)

Still out of running. I'm getting in some sprint intervals though, and haven't been logging my bike. Most of my work is in the gym now.

If it ain't on RunKeeper (for me to heckle) it didn't happen!

Seriously, even the Skimmer King is laying down some miles these days. I think I may have even spotted Muck but I can't be certain. It went by so fast..

Well ,to be honest, I'm in better shape now having 6 months off of running. But I do miss it, so hopefully by summer I can get back some miles. I've been doing 200m sprints on the track and the foot is holding up for that, so I might try some easy runs soon. And my new tires should be in this weekend, so bike miles are coming. Primary goal right now is hitting 8% BF and benching 285 by Sept.

hey, we have something in common! I can bench 2.85 and I'm working up to 28.5 by sept also.
