Good Evening Folks,

After 10 long years as an amateur weekend Bedazzler, I tried to make the jump into the pro circuit, at first everything was great, I was winning competitions left right and center for my bedazzled denim masterpieces. eventually I started to bedazzle weeknights and it wasn't long was forced to quit my job so I could bedazzle full time. I was at the apex of my hobby and thats when it all came crashing down. The price of dazzles skyrocketed tripling the cost of my luxurious brilliant jackets!!! At the end of my rope and my money I decided that I needed a hobby that costs less and takes up less time so I can do other things like work. Listed and sold all my bedazzle paraphernalia on the Kijiji and Purchased a 28 gallon cube made by AquaEuro Usa.

I haven't seen a whole lot of reviews on this particular brand of tank. Looks to be relatively comparable to the other biocubes. I almost got a nuvo 16 which is a slick looking tank but was a bit too small. It comes with two pumps, to balance the overflow and the tank they must be set on the lowest setting unfortunately.

Anyways set everything up last night, hoping the cycle works out ok.

I miss watching the bedazzled world championships on espn 8, so sad to see such a great hobby fall.

On the bright side welcome to Canreef! What's your plans for the tank?

THE OCHO!!!

Tank will be a living room project for now eventually hope to get a larger one for the living room.

As for the contents still have some research to do. have a little while yet to decide before the purchasing begins.
also going to look into leds a little more to see my options with and without the lid.

That is a totally awesome idea however I don't think I should spiral back down the rabbit hole!!!

This started growing late last night. not sure if it is good, bad or ugly.

thinking about taking it out but wanted some feedback first.

Come on kiener you just don't fully understand the extreme commitment and costs involved in bedazzling!

Fishpoop look into a photo hosting site like photobucket so your images can be embedded into the thread. It will make things easier and much nicer.

I haven't had time to hook up the photo bucket due to reading every thread I can on here. Got up this Morning and found that I was getting the brown Diatoms on the live rock, spread pretty quickly, wasn't very prominent last night, but now covers a bunch of it.

specs on the tanks on the 10th were
ph:8
ammo:2
nitrite:2
nitrate:10
Salinity:1.025

will test again when I wake up, hopefully time for a water change and a CUC in the next couple of days.

need to search for a RO/DI in the morning as well.

thinking about being sneaky and getting a small ottoman with a lid to hide a ATO bucket or some such.

I like the concept of buying stuff online but I have and issue with waiting for stuff if I don't have to.

discovered I already have an account. That was easy!

Went shopping, made the mistake of going to Costco to look for an RO machine... only available online. Didn't realize it was Saturday at the time until I pulled into the parking lot and walked the two miles from my parking space. Never doing that again. I guess I will order a rodi from somewhere that being the case. all the stores that sell just the ro machines charge way too much not too.
Picked up a rough n ready can, some extra 5 gallons and a small power head in preparation for the first water change. forgot to get a extra heater

Diatoms spread a bit more today, will have to test water tomorrow as it is nap time before work.

Here are some pics. Might have to redo the scaping of the rocks as a couple aren't quite on as solid footing as I would like.

Tank chemistry looking good, was down to 0 nitrites 0 ammonia and 5 ppm nitrates. I feel like Walter White.
did a 10 gallon water change and changed my rock configuration. it is not quite as tall as it was but it is much more stable now and still has a few good hiding holes. I think there is more horizontal planes for corals as well. still haven't seen any visible hitch hikers

Hopefully will get good numbers tomorrow. will get CUC in the next week after just a bit more research.

considering whether or not to hook up the oceanic skimmer that came with it.

doing a water change weekly or every three days really isn't a big deal as part of the reason I got the tank was so I wouldn't sit watching tv all the time.

Starting to get giddy about getting something in the tank!

Picked up two Turbans and two Electric Blue Hermits and a Scarlet Reef Hermit today. One snail went straight for the glass and the other one went for a live rock Island. The one on the live rocks is pounding back the diatoms. Kinda surprised at how clean it is getting the rock. Crabs seem to be just chillin out for the most part. One of the blues has moved around a bit more than the other two. I think I shall name them Huey Dewey and Louie. Maybe Jay and Silent Bob for the Turbans lol

Either Huey Dewey or Louie, Who shall be now known as Luke, Leia, and Han Solo went to the diatoms on the rocks last night starting to look a bit better in the tank. I can't tell the snails apart si I shall call them all Jabba the Hut.

Did the visit the family vacation. My favourite part was driving 24 hours for a 5 day "vacation"

Roommate texts me on day 3 and says one of my electric blue crabs has died. I got home tonight and went straight for the tank took out the crab in question and put him in a glass of tank water and waited. While I waited he decided to come back to life and walk around his container. I may have to rename him Lazarus or something similar.

After telling the roommate if he sees my dog not moving to make sure she is not sleeping before he calls me at work telling me she has passed on I checked the numbers and all were thankfully good. Headed to the LFS tomorrow to get a couple more members for the CUC and some more tests kits.

Need to research to see if I can mod a photon 16 to fit in the canopy and get rid of the power compacts. Should be a good day to wind down the busy vacation!
