Hi reefers! Im setting up a new tank and I painted my overflow box with the Krylon fusion waited a month or so to let it dry.I put water into the tank and I can smell the paint still. Does anyone know if the smell is going away and how long I have to wait before I can put my tank upstairs? Please thanks

can you put it in the sun to bake it?

No because it's full of water rightnow and it's in the garage running, I can't bring it upstairs because of the smell so strong. Is there any other way or wait more time do you think?

a month ?? has the tank been sitting in the garage the whole time and is your garage heated ? just wondering if it may be temperature related just did a eggcrate sheet 2 weeks ago and it only faintly smells

the other thing you could try but its messy as heck is get some baking soda and a bit of water and paint it over the paint. let it sit for a day or two and wash off.

this is the method i used to get the plastic smell out of a wine fridge when i was making a humidor

i think almost all paint needs over 16 degrees to cure properly. more time in the cold may not help it

That's probably why it's smell strong still not cure properly. The problem is I already silicone my overflow box on the glass and I'm running it with water rightnow.anymore solution into this please? Lol thanks very much everyone

drain the water to expose the overflow and direct a heater at the overflow
