Without seeing the actual meter, I'd say that was pretty high for a TDS meter.

I got a Hanna handheld TDS meter from ReefPure for $15US with my RO/DI unit. They are available separately on the website for $28.99US. Here is a link for some details:

Hey Troy,

From the reading I have done some peoples read down to one ppm. Or thereabouts..

To give an idea if your filters need changing it may be enough tho.. if you do measurements and notice it go above 10ppm I think it would work fine.. But that is me.. images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

But after seeing the Price Andrew put up you may want to go new. images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I purchased one from ReefPure and I am happy with it. I think the price you are being quoted is extremely high.

The joy of the internet, price shop.

Andrew, thanks for the link. I'm going to check with my client and see what brand he is selling. I think it was a Hanna as well and I'm pretty sure it was the same model as the one in your link.

It really makes you wonder, of course I sold him something for twice what I payed so I guess it is just capitalism at its best/worst.

Dussumieri, we need to get you a shorter name. Do either of you have a link to reefpure?

No worries Troy, that's what we're here for! images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Here's the link for Reefpure:

ReefPure Inc. (http://www.aquariumwaterfilter.com)

Their head US distributor is Marine Ecosystems (http://www.marineecosystems.com/) but call Dave directly and he'll give you better prices. Tell him Andrew from Canada sent you.

PS.. Call him tonight if you are going to buy one ASAP. He is sending me some things tomorrow, and you can get him to toss it in the same box as my stuff. (Save you shipping then)

One of my clients offered me a TDS meter for $75 that is accurate to 10ppm. Is this a good range for error and is it a good price?
