anybody can help my cousin out here, he has green algae growing on top of the zoa's polyps, they are not opening.

Likely high nutrients or excess lighting. Best to test for phosphates and nitrates first, water changes will help short term.

There is lots of info on here on removing it. Total darkness for 3-4 days, scrubbing rocks, chemicals, etc.

What are the parameters? Flow lighting?

he sad everything is normal, phosphate is 0.05.... light he is using is a 8 bulb VHO 54 watt each, he only turns on the 4 bulbs which is 216 watt... 8 hrs a day...

Might be time for a quick hydrogen peroxide bath...It works but is a big tricky.

I would bet the phosphates are higher than that but the algae is consuming them and the water column is giving false readings.

guess i'll tell him to add some rowaphos in his TLF reactor.. he is just running carbon in both reactor, guess he should run one carbon and one rowaphos.
