Game over for my72 gal bow. I just came back from my California (was down for my dad's funeral) to find my tank in shambles. Wow, what a blow. Apparently the mag pump from the skimmer dislodged and ended up pumping water over the back shorting out all of the strips along the way down... hence my nicely stocked tank is gone (pics below in gallery).
Fellow reefer had been reefsitting for me up until late Thursday night so what luck for this to happen between Fri and Sunday night.
RIP:
Regal tang
Maroon pair
Chromis
Anthias
Potters
Solaris wrasse
Cleaner shrimp
RBTA
Clams x 5 (not sure if they're all gone just yet)
Coco worm
Hammer
Frogspawn
Brain x 2
Plate x 2
Octobubble/Pearl
Bubble
Pagoda
Digitata
Acropora
Cap
And soooooooo much more...
Time to start cleaning after a nice stressful week back home and being completely exhausted emotionally and physically.
I just feel like taking everything out and dumping it. Anyone have any thoughts on setting up a FO without a sand bed?

Man, that's terrible. Sorry to hear about your dad and your tank. I think you should probably just clean it up as best as you can, and give it a little while to gather your thoughts.
Sorry , man... I feel your pain... :frown:
Oh man, that's a tough week. Hope things get nothing but better for you.

Sorry to hear  Any chance of salvaging any livestock?
I agree with Brad, take a few to regroup and see if things can be fixed.
Lets us know how things work out.

Well, despite being unsure if most of the coral was gone.. I still transplanted it all to my friend's 120 to see what comes of it. Will let you know. I actually managed to salvage one male maroon, 2 chromis, and 1 damsel. *shrug*

Sorry to hear that. Murphy's law does exists. Save what you can and pray to the reef gods.

thanks Zerandise.
I will be in Van June 18th-June 26th.
Thank you everyone that pm'd me to donate getting our reefer back up and runnin! A tank melt down is enough to make a reefer quit. It could happen to anyone of us.
So we reefer's gotta stick together!
