I just purchased cheap led light (55x3w) w/sunrise, sunset & lunar cycle .
To my disappointment the moonlights don't work at 10% & 5% setting . They do work at all the other settings (100%,50%,25%). Now there is no manual dimmer or a setting on the LCD display to adjust , everything is preprogrammed .
My question: Is there anyway to check what is wrong ?
The company doesn't seem to stand behind their product or even let me know if it is broken or they haven't perfected their product yet !

Do LED's need so much power before they start to illuminate ???

Any info would be helpful or point me in the right direction .
Thanks

Sounds like its just in there programming, nothing really broken. My Profilux controller only goes don't to 10% on the blues as well. Manual dimmers can take them down lower. Again that what you need up with when you go to the cheaper made LEDs.

It actually sounds like the drivers. Depending on the driver used, the minimum illumination level is typically 10% as the driver behaviour becomes non-linear below 10%. Few drivers actually dim all the way to zero.

So, nothing is wrong. It's just the nature of the beast.

Never thought of the drivers, could be that too.

So does that mean driver built into complete module or are they seperate ? Or every manufacturer is different ?
I'd be happy if they could do 10%

Oh , with no 10% & no 5% that means no moonlights approx. 7 days a month !!!

What brand of LEDs are they & maybe a pic so we know what your dealing with.

My SOL does the same thing with the moon phases, some days you can hardly see them on.

The light is made by Twilight Group Co.
What do you want to see a pic of the housing top & bottom or the moonlights not lit up ??? Lol

Finally got an answer from the manufacturer : they said the moonlights don't work below 15% . So I asked if it's possible to reprogram . No answer yet , unless someone here might know ???

its probably because of the driver - you cant re program that. for a cheap LED light you cant expect much.

Can't you reprogram the module that runs the driver . They had to get the settings in there somehow ?

like I said its the driver - some drivers have a hard time dimming below 10%

google it and you'll find info on it

Company said : they dim to 15% . Reprogram to only dim to 15% !!!
