Is it possible to turn this into a refugium? I am thinking of having chaeto back there. Maybe some caulerpa with a 24/7 photoperiod. Also considering using miracle mud (but think that the high flow will just send it all downstream).

sure you can, just set it up that the macro can't block the bulkheads unless you want a flood.

Great idea! Paint the sides and bottom black, make a black lid and toss an led strip across the back. It won't even light your living room at night.

Thanks for the feedback. I can't paint the box now that its up against the wall. I want to switch to a natural ecosystem method vs carbon dosing. Additionally, I want an extra food source for gobys.

i wouldnt run the lights 24/7 even plants need a rest period you could prob get a better result running 18/6 or so

I am looking into the ecosystem methods but I thought that carbon dosing helped grow pods just at much as a refuge, if not more so.
