Where are you getting your replacement filters from? I was hoping there were just as good filters here in Canada without ordering from places like Spectrapure. Most I have googled are for drinking water and not very good for tanks. Looking for .05 micron pre and carbon block.

Pricing from Spectrapure is reasonable but shipping is the killer.

Take a look at www.reefsupplies.ca They carry Spectrapure here in canada and always seem reasonable to deal with.

Do you mean 5 micron because .05 you won't find over the counter and other than the DI the prefitration is the same as a drinking water system.

He means 0.5 like these

http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-store/0.5uM-Sediment-Filters-by-Spectrapure.html

And

http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-store/0.5uM-Carbon-block.html

0.5 prolong the life of the DI resin. We don't even carry 5 micron anymore as 80% of people are buying 1m and the rest are buying 0.5m

Wait how does that carbon prolong the life of the DI,I thought it was fed by the Membrane product water. If it's for chlorine removal any carbon prefilter should work.

Don't forget the 0.5 sediment as well.
