Luckily everything in there is big enough to not be lunch for him

That looks like it could be an emerald crab. If it is,they're not too bad and they'll even eat bubble algae. Are the ends of its pinchers pointy or do they look like suction cups?

It's a actaeodes tomentosus guam
Xanthid crab
Evil little buggers and get quite large
I used to feed them to my sharks back when I had them

Definitely not an emerald crab. Look at those stubby little legs and rounded front arms. No to mention the lack of green color and the massive body compared to the legs.
I'd put money on Xanthid, but definitely not something you want in your tank. Good catch!

Looks like an emerald crab to me. can you post a pic of it's claws? if it has spoon like claw then it's probably an emerald crab. I found one just like yours and it never touched anything in my tank. Give the little bugger a chance or put it in your sump.

Sorry to be blunt... but that looks nothing like an emerald crab. The OP obviously already knew what it was, and was not looking for an ID. Just showing us what could have become a fish eater.
Look at this comparison.

I found one hitch hiking on new live rock a while back. He's now hiding in my 16g nano with my Saddle Valentini Puffer......hope he keeps himself hidden or else puffy is gonna get a treat! He's lasted quite a while now and helps with clean up so as long as he's happy I'm happy with him where he is.
