They are 400 watt how do I know if they're able to use for tanks ...

If they are good for tanks I'll want to sell them for 25 bucks if anyone is interested

Metal Halide what? Blubs? Ballasts? complete fixtures?
What bulbs? what ballasts? what voltage?

should be good. it's comes down to the bulb in it for spectrum. However 400 watts is a LOT of light. only people with deep tanks would be able to use them without frying most of their inhabitants.

Take a look on the bulb themselves and see if there's a temp rating on them. Eg. 10,000 K, 15,000K 20,000K

Not new but I don't believe they have ever been used...I didnt see a spectrum value but I didnt fully look at them yet we got busy and I forgot to bring them home at the end of the day. I'll be able to have a better look at them tommarow

Also I am not really fussy about price I have no use for them so I figure why not help others out a cheep cost.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to use those on a tank. In a workshop or warehouse yes but they would look horrible on an aquarium.

Looks like the bulbs are meant for something else than fish tanks. Maybe store or warehouse usage. 4000k is yellow

You come to Edmonton very often? No useful for fish tanks, but good for parking lot lighting at my parents office building.

Metal Arc too, don't see those often anymore.
