Someone gave me a tub of rowa but it wasn't the usual black color, it was brown. Still damp though. He said it was from a year ago. Is it still ok to use or should I chuck it?

I have a brand new container of Rowa that looks exactly like that, it's only been open once. It's not black at all just dark brown when wet & there is no expire date on the container as long as it stays moist in container.

Its rust so its should be brown, more oxygen over time lighter brown.as long as the base structure of the granules are intact I'd just rinse them well and use them:biggrin:

I bought a bunch of BRS GFO a couple of years back and have no concern using it. To my knowledge, time will not affect it.

Whew, Really didn't wanna throw out the container, it'll be such a waste.

Always wondered though, how come rowa is black and BRS Gfo is brown? shouldnt they be the same cuz they're both GFO? Oh and also rowa is wet and BRS is dry?
